Courses are taught by staff and faculty from Hyles-Anderson College, First Baptist Church, and other First Baptist Church ministries. There will also be courses taught by guest lecturers.
Great news! The Joshua Institute is geared specifically toward those who are laymen, those who are in bi-vocational ministry, and others who might need a more flexible academic model. You may take as many or as few courses as you wish, and you have access to courses for a full year after purchase.
There are no required textbooks; however, to further enhance your learning experience, an instructor may recommend extracurricular reading materials (available through Campus Bookstore).

Once you have applied and have been accepted, you will be emailed a user name and a password. You will then be able to log on to online.hylesanderson.edu and purchase courses via Paypal or credit card.
The first lesson comes with a money-back guarantee. After the first lesson, courses that a student purchases are nonrefundable.
After each course, you will complete a 10-question, multiple-choice quiz on the concepts covered.
The goal of these courses is not necessarily just a grade but rather a mastering of the concepts. A student will not be able to continue to future lessons until the quiz for the lesson is passed with a “C” letter grade. If a student struggles to pass, he will have as many attempts as needed to master those concepts before moving on to the next lesson.
Students receiving ministry training should be faithful members of a like-minded Bible-believing church. We will contact the student’s pastor before the student will be accepted into the program.

Hyles-Anderson College/HAC Online reserves the right to refuse service or to disenroll a student at any time for any reason, and while a student may receive a notice of disenrollment, Hyles-Anderson College/HAC Online is not obligated to provide a reason for denial or disenrollment.
No, the Joshua Institute will not allow the transfer of credits from other colleges or Hyles-Anderson undergraduate/graduate credits.
While all students are welcome to take Joshua Institute courses, we do not recommend it if the goal is completing a degree with Hyles-Anderson College. The Joshua Institute courses are geared specifically toward laypeople serving in a church and will not contain all of the information available in our regular undergraduate and graduate online programs. Additionally, credits would not transfer equally from a Joshua Institute course to a Hyles-Anderson College academic program.
If a student was first enrolled in the Joshua Institute before attending the resident college and completed all three levels including the Advanced Ministry Training Certificate, there is a possibility that up to six credits may transfer to his degree (the same number of credits as the Advantage Program). However, that credit transfer request must be approved with the Academic Office prior to enrolling in the resident college.
